Our Story

From 5th April 2017

Founded in 2017 by renowned vocalist Madhumita Chakraborty, Giti Alekhya Music School is a place where passion for music meets structured music education. What started as a small initiative to share the love of Indian classical music has now grown into one of the most trusted music schools in Kolkata, offering both offline and online music classes for students of all ages.

About Madhumita Chakraborty

Madhumita’s journey with music began in 1998, when she first appeared in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Voice of India. Over the years, she has trained under legendary maestros such as Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty and Santanu Bandhopadhyay, mastering the intricacies of Hindustani Classical Music.

Armed with a B. Muse (Music) degree from Rabindra Bharati University, Madhumita has also made her mark as a playback singer and live performer. For over a decade, she performed alongside legends like Bappi Lahiri (11 years), KK, and Kavita Krishnamurti. This rich experience shapes her unique approach as a music teacher, blending classical traditions with modern performance techniques.
